What to plan for in Sarasota and Bradenton
Season, bridges and aircraft
- Season: from January through April the area fills up and so do the roads. Build extra drive time between locations, especially on and off the islands.
- Drawbridges and boats: the bridges to Anna Maria Island and Siesta Key open for boat traffic, and waterfront locations get a steady run of boat engines. Mics work in close near the water, and some takes wait for a boat to pass.
- Aircraft: Sarasota Bradenton International sits between the two cities, next to the Ringling Museum and the bayfront north of downtown. Expect to pause for jets at locations near it.
- Beach wind and afternoon storms: mornings are calmer on the beach, and summer storms build most afternoons. Exteriors first, interiors after lunch. What Florida does to a shoot day →

- Same-day quotes: text your dates, location and how many people need to be mic'd, and I'll get you a number today.
- Nothing to rent: mixer/recorder, wireless lavs, boom mics, jam-synced timecode and redundant recording all arrive with me. Full gear list →
